In my series titled ‘Hand Portraits: Offer a Hand,’ I draw inspiration from deeply personal encounters that shaped my journey. Meeting my first therapist, during my initial steps towards managing my psychiatric condition was pivotal. His warm and outstretched hand symbolized kindness and marked the beginning of a decade-long relationship that guided me through my challenges. This collection captures the expressive nature of hands, serving as symbols of human connection. By inviting friends and family to model their hands, I recreate the same sense of connection I experienced with my therapist. Through this process, I’ve created around two dozen individual studies, each reflecting the power of human touch and connection.
